Drawing inspiration from the verdant surrounding landscape, the Wategos Estate rental homes provide a tranquil sanctuary in a breathtaking location.

The stunning architecture by renowned local firm Harley Graham Architecture, is strikingly modern while the residence sits naturally in the hillside with views of Byron Bay. New York City based interior designer Piper Skillman focused on connecting the homes to their environments by drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape and Australian craftspeople.

The relaxed luxury synonymous with Wategos, Byron Bay permeates a range of interior spaces. Multiple seating areas invite engagement with fellow guest while four bedrooms provide private, tranquil spaces. Bespoke furniture is featured throughout the house, spotlighting the natural beauty of organic materials. Custom pieces include work by Mark Tuckey, Jardan, Tsar Carpets and others Australian makers, designers and manufacturers. Original art pieces include works by Rikki Kasso, Michael Whiteread, Rebekah Stuart, John Kerry as well as emerging local artist. The palette of tactile, neutral materials features a combination of natural fibers, stone, timber, and hand-finished micro-cement walls to create a soothing backdrop.

A spectrum of green and blue accents throughout the houses pull the visual language created by the dense foliage, Pacific Ocean and endless sky into the interior creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
